How to convert DYE ink to Pigment ink? |

I planned to have a small Tshirt printing business on our house, I've search business ideaa on internet to know my plans, joined online business programs and luckily found some tutorials on youtube on how to print a t-shirt using transfer paper and I've learned that to print tshirt you need to use a pigment ink on your inkjet printer so I bought a brand new Epson L3110 inkjet printer this February 2019. The printer looks perfect and it's really affordable/cheap in price. There are Epson printer inks included on the box which are DYE inks. My problem is that, How can I put pigment ink on the ink tank? and How to convert dye ink to pigment ink? (see the photo to understand what my problem is)

I can't even use injection to put the pigment ink.

| Convert printer to Pigment ink (printer ink) |
Inks from the left side are DYE inks from Epson while on the rights are Pigment inks. What I did was, I removed the ink from Epson DYE ink bottles and put the Hansol pigment ink.
If you're asking if you can open the Epson ink bottles, Yes you can! You just need to twist it carefully.

If you open it already, You can now transfer or put the pigment ink.
You can now use pigment ink on your printer.

In putting ink, You will just put the ink bottles above. No need to push it or force it to refill the ink. You just need to wait until it full. It automatically stops when it's already full so no worries.

If you ran out of printer ink, you can try to buy pigment ink on shopee or Lazada. If you'll have to refill again the ink tank, follow again the procedures above.
It really a good start if you're planning to build your own clothing brand. Shirts are still indemand up to this days. You'll just have to be creative and aware what is the trending designs for you to have many customers.

Hello. May I ask if you used the printer with dye ink before changing to pigment ink? Or you never use dye ink on this printer? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteActually, When i bought the printer it doesnt have ink yet so I put pigment ink instead. Coz my plan is to print shirt. But if you are asking if this printer can accept DIY Ink, yes it is. ButDIY is not advisable for tshirt printing

ReplyDeleteYou can mix them but if you'll just print documents. But if you will print shirt then better to wait to runs out then change it to pigment 🙂

ReplyDeleteYou can try to use syringe to get off the dye ink. Then put pigment ink. Print some paper using all colours so that remain dye ink on.the printer will be use and only pigment ink would stay

DeleteI went to the printing shop and i asked if what kind of ink the L3110 have and they told me that epson L3110 is already a pigment but they called it ecotank something! I was shock. it must be true. they said the new cannon is the only pigment is the vblack is it true? and to the manual its not stating whether its a Dye og pigment read it!

ReplyDeleteKung wala pa pong budget pambili nh heat press, pwd po iron muna. Iron padin gamit ko til now, okay naman. Nagtatagal naman yung print, timplahin mo lng yung unit ng iron. Wag yung sobrang init baka masunog

ReplyDeleteIt's better if you'll wait for the tank to get empty. Mixing dye and pigment is not recommended

DeleteHi Kevin and anyone in this blog. I´ve bough a breand new Epson L3110 1 week ago, and from the begging added pigmented ink (OCR brand germany). I´ve issues with color managment, what I see on screen greatly differ from printed paper. Any advice for printer setting?
